Pearls

  1. Tillaux Fractures: SH III fractures that are generally stable and can be treated nonoperatively if <2 mm of displacement after reduction. For reduction, apply gentle traction and internal rotation of the foot.
  2. Triplane Fractures: SH III or IV fractures that generally require surgical treatment, but if <2 mm of displacement a closed reduction may be trialed.

Complications

High risk for growth arrest of the physis if displaced.
