Pearls
- Ensure there is no malrotation. Fractures with rotation will require surgery.
Degree of acceptable angulation:
- Index/Middle: 10-15°
- Ring: 30-40°
- Small: 50-60°
Reduction: Flex MCP joints to 90° and lever the extended fingers over your hand to create axial force through proximal phalanx.
