Pearls
- All Galeazzi fractures require urgent/emergent surgical treatment.
- All fractures of the distal 1/3 of the radius have a high probability of having associated DRUJ injury.
- Radiographic signs concerning for DRUJ instability include ulnar styloid fractures, radial shortening and displacement on lateral radiographs.
Pediatrics:
- Closed reduction under general anesthesias is the optimal treatment.
